About the CETA Bursaries
CETA is offering bursaries for 30 TVET Lecturers and 20 CET Lecturers currently employed in Construction, Civil Engineering, and Built Environment faculties or departments.
The bursaries aim to enhance lecturers’ qualifications and skills, helping them meet both minimum and advanced requirements in disciplines covered by the CETA Organizing Framework for Occupations (OFO)
The Field Covered by CETA Bursaries
- Advanced Diploma or Honours Degree in Education with a focus on Construction, Engineering, or the Built Environment (NQF Level 7 and above).
- STEM-related qualifications or advanced studies in Construction or Built Environment at Honours, Master’s, or PhD level.

Requirements for Application
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Employment: Must be a lecturer at a TVET or CET College in a field aligned with CETA’s mandate. Preference will be given to applicants pursuing STEM or Built Environment-related qualifications.
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen or a naturalized permanent resident.
- Age: Must be of working age and have enough years remaining before retirement to complete the bursary-funded studies.
- Study Enrollment: Must be enrolled or accepted for studies commencing in 2026.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following:
- Proof of current employment at a public TVET or CET College registered with DHET and CHE.
- A recently certified copy of the applicant’s South African ID (not older than six months).
- Proof of registration or acceptance from an accredited higher education institution.
- Latest academic transcript or results.
- Proof of residence.
